Let the season begin

U8 got their season started with team hitting. The dugout is now open to all teams to begin their seasons for Bronco Select and get the rust off those bats. Some of the teams start their 2020 season as early as November with some waiting for basketball to be almost over and starting up in January.

The Boys are back out on the road recording live from the 2020 Bronco Select Bowling Fundraiser supporting the 2020 U14 Red Girls Fast-pitch and U12 Boys Baseball teams. Bobby Katterhagen and Corey Storebeck the Head Coaches for those two teams stop in to talk about the trips they have planned for their teams this year. The event is hosted by Old Settler’s Inn in Union Grove and Brian & Scott sit down to chat with long time owner and community member Butch Schoenfuss. SkooTR and McB get a chance to introduce Bronco Select’s newest pitching coach, former MLB pitcher Justin Berg. Justin checks in to share his journey to the major leagues, how he stumbled on Bronco Select and what he hopes to accomplish in the organization. And finally, everyone gets to meet the new Chairperson of the Bronco Select Pig-roast Jess Meyers as well the head of the Basket Committee Brooke Wolfe.

All that and more including some exciting announcements about the show itself.

Volunteering for Special Olympics

U12 Red volunteered to help out the Special Olympics bowling event in Racine

Griffin S drove in four runs, but it wasn’t enough as U11 Bronco Select 11U fell to Black STiKS 11U 20-11 on Tuesday. Griffin drove in runs on a home run in the first and a home run in the third.

Despite the loss, U11 Bronco Select 11U did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Black STiKS 11U had 18 hits on the way to victory.
U11 Bronco Select 11U captured the lead in the first inning. Ethan M grounded out, scoring one run.

Black STiKS 11U took the lead for good with eight runs in the second inning. In the second Noah Yocum doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Braden Loebel singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Brayden V doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Noah Melby singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, #12 singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Noah Kulis drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jack Weisbrod drew a walk, scoring one run.

U11 Bronco Select 11U tallied five runs in the third inning. Griffin, Ethan, and Nolan S each had RBIs in the frame.

Noah Kulis led things off on the hill for Black STiKS 11U. He surrendered seven runs on five hits over two and a third innings, striking out one.

Cam O started the game for U11 Bronco Select 11U. He surrendered eight runs on seven hits over one and two-thirds innings. Nolan, Noah C, and Ethan each contributed in relief for U11 Bronco Select 11U.

U11 Bronco Select 11U socked two home run on the day. Griffin had a homer in the first and third innings.

U11 Bronco Select 11U tallied ten hits in the game. Griffin, Nolan, Aaden H, and KJ H all managed multiple hits for U11 Bronco Select 11U. KJ, Aaden, Nolan, and Griffin each managed two hits to lead U11 Bronco Select 11U. U11 Bronco Select 11U was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Tucker K had the most chances in the field with four.

U11 Boys win the Championship of the Dogs Day of Summer Classic at Sandlots of Salem. The team went 4-0, facing the same teams on Saturday and Sunday.
